spacLaboratory Medicine encompasses testing services and associated practices for screening, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of numerous deadly diseases and health related problems. It helps to detect, identify, and promptly report all diseases of public health significance. Hence, lab to provide reliable and quality assured laboratory services, a strong quality management system is a key. Quality manuals help to standardize the laboratory service and improve the quality of care in the health care delivery as well as it will have a great customer satisfaction outcome.

  • Staff recruitment, training, development and to provide a full and effective service to our community.
  • The proper procurement and maintenance of the equipment and other resources needed for the provision of service.
  • The collection, transport and handling of all specimens in such a way as to ensure the correct performance of laboratory examinations.
  • The use of examination procedures that will ensure the highest achievable quality of all tests performed.
  • Reporting results of examinations in ways which are timely, confidential, accurate and clinically useful.
  • The assessment of customer satisfaction, in addition to internal audit and external quality assessment, in order to produce continual quality improvement.
  • 👉 Finally, this Quality Manual is designed to provide guidance on good laboratory practice of and to meet ISO 15189:2012 requirements of processes and procedures, and World Health Organization (WHO) laboratory standards. It therefore portends to meet up to the expectations as well as pave ways for improvement in Laboratory practice towards accreditation.

    • INTRODUCTION

    This Quality Policy Manual (QPM) has been prepared to meet the requirements for laboratory accreditation of ISO 15189, Medical laboratories — Particular requirements for quality and competence. It has been formatted using the clause numbers from ISO 15189 to provide ease in review. This Quality Policy Manual shall provide an insight into the structure of Goro Health Center Laboratory (GHCL) and of the policies and operating procedures for all the laboratory staff to carry out their job and related activities in accordance to the policies of laboratory. This will demonstrate that the Goro Health center Laboratory is competent to operate medical testing laboratories in accordance with the requirements of ISO 15189:2012and of the accreditation body ENAO. The QPM and related quality procedures shall be reviewed and revised accordingly from time to time to reflect its status and requirements of ISO 15189:2012, Medical laboratories-Particular requirements for quality and competence and accreditation body ENAO Requirements.

    The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining the official master copy of Goro Health Center Laboratory Quality Policy Manual. General distribution of softcopy and/or hardcopy of this manual are monitored using a master registry.

    Scope of Service

    Goro Health Center Laboratory scope of services is defined by the following eight categories of tests provided routinely in regular schedule:

    Clinical chemistry Liver function tests, Renal function tests, Lipid profile.
    Hematology Complete blood count (CBC).
    Parasitology/urinalysis Blood, Stool, Urine examination.
    Tuberculosis Laboratory TB molecular tests (Xpert MTB/RIF test), TB Microscopy- Fluorescence or ZN.
    Virology Viral Load and CD4 count.
    Serology Laboratory HBsAg, HCV-Ab, RPR, H. pylori (Ag/Ab), Widal, weilflex, HCG.
    Reception Specimen collection, labeling, receiving, enter of test information using laboratory request form and communication to the patien.
    Sample Referral Specimen collection, labeling and referral services for every un-available diagnostic test.
